The Queen Reborn
Long ago, the civilized kingdoms were ruled by a single undying king named Zith. It is said that Zith was the first sorcerer crafting the discipline during the Scourge of the North. It was the power that ended the scourge and the civilized world hailed Zith as a great hero appointing him king of kingdoms. Once in power Zith commanded the disbanding of the Order of Wizards claiming that their form of magic was weak and profane. He ordered their towers vacated and the Azurite Scrolls, powerful wizard artifacts hidden. In the place of the wizards he trained a legion of sorcerers fuelled by emotion and directed by Zith alone. The people soon began to realize the depths of cruelty this new king was capable of. Carnivals of blood were arranged for the king’s entertainment. Slaves fought to the death, were skinned or staked before him and animals were butchered by the thousands. Obsessing in his own pleasures, Zith eventually lost interest in ruling and retreated into seclusion taking up residence in a fortress deep in the poison hills. Here, surrounded by his most gifted sorcerers, known as the zithurites, Zith freely engaged in his sadism. People were brought to him by the hundereds wrenched from their homes and declared as slaves to be locked in Zith’s dungeons to entertain his darkest desires. The kingdoms fell to ruin as criminals and chaos ran unchecked. Regents were unofficially appointed to bring some order to the world, but their jobs were made near impossible by the zithurites who wrought unspeakable horror upon the people with nobody daring to challenge them. It was in this time that a dwarf named Jeromass Lightbeard united the regents into a secret society known as the Nyasim. It was the Nyasim who found and restored the Azurite Scroll to the Tower of Zaros and thus restoring in part the Order of Wizardry. Enraged at the blasphemy of restoring the order, Zith descended on the City of Salmondrass destroying it utterly. However, now empowered by the newly reformed wizard order the Nyasim eventually forced Zith and his army back into the Poison Hills and laid siege to Zith’s fortress.
The siege was broken when Jeromass Lightbeard kidnapped Zith by skewering him with a magical sword. In a weakened state, the Nyasim were able to drag Zith to of the Tower of Zaros. Here, the wizards worked for days to dispatch Zith’s the hateful soul, but alas found that it could not be destroyed. So instead they used their power to divide Zith up into seven pieces. With their leader dismembered, the zithurites scattered into the winds.
The Seven Sacraments of Zith were secured to remote locations to ensure that he would never plague the world again.
